He studied in Akhaura and Dhaka.&lt;br /&gt;The young Shamsuzzoha Chowdhury took active part in 1971 liberation war. During pre-liberation period he was closely involved in every democratic and non-cooperation movement of the students. During the period of organizing the young men of Akhaura to build fortress in every house at the call of Bangabandhu in 1971, Zoha came to learn the news of crackdown occurred in the night of 25th March. 1971. Crossing the border from Akhaura he rushed to Agartala, the capital city of Tippera of the neighbouring country India, on 27th March 1971 afternoon, in search of arms and assistance. Returning from the neighbouring country he formed a line of battle in the free area of Akhaura and took active part to encounter the aggression of Pakistani army. But when Akhaura fell into the hands of enemy in April, Zoha was wounded. As a result he had to retreat to his village house at Chandpur of Brahmanbaria District. Then he took an attempt to form a guerilla force. After failure in that attempt, he again went to Agartala, the capital of Tippera state of India. There he joined as relief and liaison officer in the headquarters of the eastern zone under Mujibnagar government. In spite of earnest desire that after taking training in Deradun, Zoha would take active part in liberation ztruggle, but the Mujibnagar Government retained him for relief works. When, in October, the role of Zoha in the activities of freedom struggles in Agartala became crystal clear, the allies of the Pakistan Army and Razakars began threatening to kill father , mother and other relatives of Zoha in his native village. Then freedom fighter Zoha left Agartala for Calcutta and joined the service in the headquarters of Mujibnagar government.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After liberation Zoha joined the government service. The place of his works was in Ganabhaban, the government office of the then Prime Minister Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Here he received fatherly affection of Bangabandhu closely. He was elected member of the Bangladesh Muktijoddah Sangshad Central Committee and also Engineering Adviser of the Muktijoddha Sangshad Central Committee. In the midst of all unfavourable political turmoils Shamsuzzoha tackled these situation with immense endurance and remained himself engaged in the creative activities of freedom fighting. He was the founder-organizing secretary of Bangladesh Mujibnagar Employees Welfare organization. He was also involved with the activities of engineers' command of Freedom Fighters Sangsad. Besides, he organized the freedom fighters of southern region of Brahmanbaria district and formed "Freedom Fighters Welfare Samity".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In his personal life, the Engineer and Freedom Fighter Shamsuzzoha Chowdhury is the father of one son and one daughter. The name of his wife is Gulshan Ara Begum. He retired from Government Service in the year 2006 as Additional Chief Engineer, P.W.D.
